Welcome to Scrap 'n' on the River

Wow! I cannot believe 2011 has already come and gone. Last year opened so many doors for me and brought a lot of people in and out of my life. I am so excited about the 2012 crop, and ready to see you all again. I hope that you all will be registering and will be attending the 2012 Scrap-N-on the River “Scrap Vegas”. I have had a lot of good ideas and other things planned for this year, however; I have also made a few changes as well. They are minor changes, but I am still trying to catch up from last year and there was no other way. I am trying to keep things as close to what Founder Pam Frank did, but I do need to make some things my own. For starters, I will not be doing a benefit lunch or dinner this year, unless there is a family in need by the time July gets here.  I do want to give something back to our community, so the organization of choice is Natchez Adams County Humane Society. This organization is in great need of monetary donations as well as supplies. I will be doing a ½ and ½ drawing to raise money for the shelter. Also, I will not be raffling off a laptop. In my opinion it did not go as well and it seems everyone has a computer now. I will be raffling off a Flat Screen T.V. (Suggested by a great friend).

I also want to do a garage sale table. You can bring in tools and cartridges that you no longer need and would like to make a little fun money. The seller will be assigned a number and will be required to number and price their items. This will be clear profit for the seller and a great asset to our crop.  We will still have the Lucky Leftovers table.  This table is for any items that you did not want to sell or simply just not worth the selling. Last year there was a large assortment of scrapbooking treasures for everyone to share. I was so amazed how many things ended up on that table that others were able to use.

I will also be doing several contests including a layout, table decorating, and possibly a contest to see who accomplished the most. They will be judged on creativity, neatness and by themes (contest details will be posted at a later date). Sorry ladies but the vendor kits are definitely off limits to be eligible for contest.  They are cute and so creative, but they are someone else’s ideas and work.  I am still in the process of getting vendors and classes together. I will be posting updates as I receive them, so keep checking. If you have any questions regarding registration or any other concern feel free to contact me.

Thanks Again,
Jessica Clark
